The Basement Bistro

776 Route 45, Earlton, 634-2338, Chef-owner Damon Baehrel cooks up regional American food with the freshest possible ingredients, and his Sagecrest Catering has provided meals for more than 2,500 weddings in 20 years in the biz. The restaurant offers a tasting menu of 10 to 15 courses of whatever’s freshest that day, for a fixed price (which, like the menu, changes daily). The fall menu is likely to offer treats such as house-cured duck-breast prosciutto and homemade cheeses—and there are theme menus such as potato and truffle tastings. The Bears Steakhouse
