You
may or may not have noticed that the usual columns of readers
picks were not included in our recent Best of the Capital Region issue
on July 21. We have taken Readers Poll 2005 to a whole new level
and created a separate issue to place emphasis on the response we
got from readers (actually, the real reason is because we would like
a little bit of sympathy for the intense paper shuffling that is Readers
Poll).
We received
hundreds and hundreds of readers poll entries this year, and while
we may not agree with all of your selections, this is your space
and your chance to have a say. We have presented the winners exactly
as you voted for them, and tried (as best we can) to keep our own
opinions in check. (If you dont like what you see, round up
some more friends to fill out polls next year!)
We spent long
hours sifting, collating and tabulating pounds and pounds of ink-stained
paper to come up with these highly nonscientific, but nonetheless
illuminating results. Some are holding steady from previous yearsin
others, the tide is turning. So without further ado. . . . Here
they are, the results of Readers Poll 2005.
