chain with a reputation for discounts. Focuses on new and

Morgan and more. Lessons available.
Guitar

music store offers a full selection of guitars, amps, drums,
keyboards as well as used and vintage gear (they take trades).
They advertise low prices, but pride themselves on customer
service with knowledgeable salespeople.
Hermie’s

St., Schenectady, 374-7433. Not exclusively for rock &
rollers. Along with the requisite guitars, basses and drums,
there’s woodwinds, brass and more. In fact, Hermie’s boasts
that it has “any kind of musical instrument you’re looking
for.”
LA’s
Hilton Music Latham Circle Mall, 783-9400. Full selection
of guitars, amps, PAs, band instruments, lessons and more.
New
Music 40 Russell Road, Albany, 459-8298. A warehouse o’
instruments—guitars, drums, PAs and more. Friendly to the
discount shopper. Also lessons and fully equipped rehearsal
space.
Only
Guitar Shop 1774 Route 9, Clifton Park, 371-1232. The
name says it all, although there are drums, keyboards and
recording and PA equipment, lessons and repairs too. A reputation
for being low-pressure and generally customer-friendly.
Parkway
Music 1602 Route 9, Clifton Park, 383-0300. Specializes
in vintage/used equipment and repairs but also offers new
equipment, band instruments, a PA selection, lessons and rentals,
everything but keyboards. A fun amp-browsing spot.
Saratoga
Guitar 8 Caroline St., Saratoga Springs, 581-1604. New,
used and vintage guitars in this cozy store, along with repair
service. Willing to buy and trade.
