’80s Prom Benefit, May 3, Jack Rabbit Slims, Albany

University at Albany graduate student Christy Olezeski is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in a very adventurous way: Olezeski has plans to hike the Grand Canyon for the cause. Her most recent fund-raising undertaking was a nostalgically flamboyant ’80s prom at Jack Rabbit Slims (formerly, and sometimes still, known as Noche) in Albany. Promlings donned in crinolines and micro-minis, skinny ties and teal satin, rocked the night away to a full soundtrack of classic ’80s tunes. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
