Music
of the Great Poets
Albany Pro Musica is opening its concert season with a program
that blends the words of great poets like Walt Whitman, Robert
Frost, and P.B. Shelley with a dozen composers including Daniel
Pinkham and James Mulholland. The evening will feature an
amusing Shakespearean set: a Shakespeare poem about snoring,
a new Shakespeare poem, and a jazz arrangement
of a Shakespearean work. The seasoned voices of Albany Pro
Musica will be joined by Capital District Youth Chorale for
two works.
The Music of the Great Poets will be performed on Saturday
(Oct. 18) at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Albany and
Sunday (Oct. 19) at the First United Methodist Church in Delmar.
Tickets for the concerts are $20, $18 for seniors, or $10
for students. Tickets are available at the door or by calling
