L’Enfant The prize winner of Cannes 2005 finally arrives in area theaters. It’s an arresting drama about a thug who sells his own baby and promptly regrets the mistake, from the Beligian Dardenne brothers. (R)

On a Clear Day This is not a remake of the Broadway musical. It’s a Brit midlife-crisis dramedy about a laid-off shipbuilder who decides to swim the English Channel. (PG-13)

X-Men: The Last Stand Most of the cast of the first two films returns, with the addition of Kelsey Grammer. The second X-Men flick was so good, dare we hope for something equally entertaining? If you’re superstitious about it, just close your eyes when the “Directed by Brett Ratner” credit flashes on screen. (PG-13)
