Failure to Launch

Matthew McConaughey (pictured at right) has played many roles, but none more convincing than the aging admirer of teen girls in Slacker. It wasn’t the lechery we were sold on; it was the convincing slacking. Finally, McConaughey gets a role in which to connect with the slacker we know lies in his heart. In Failure to Launch, opening this weekend through the courtesy of your friends at Paramount Pictures, McConaughey plays a 30-something dude who still lives in his parents’ basement. The fact that his parents are played by Kathy Bates and Terry Bradshaw only makes it funnier. The folks are sick of it, and hire a beguiling young woman (played by Sarah Jessica Parker, pictured at left) to get his lazy ass out of the house. Of course, once they click, it’s all about the romance.

Failure to Launch opens everywhere tomorrow (Friday, March 10). Rated PG-13.
